“Not all those who wander are lost.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien
When work and life get too stressful, my mind starts to wander. A quick visit to Pinterest makes me daydream of dropping everything and hopping on a plane just so I can lay in savasana on a beach or under a canopy of stars. We all need to hit the reset button now and again. What better way to recharge than on a yoga retreat?
So, just for you, here is a list of yoga retreats that is giving me some serious wanderlust.
- Aqua Wellness Resort, Nicaragua
I was fortunate enough to experience Aqua Wellness Resort in April. Located on the Emerald Coast (south Pacific side), the luxury eco-lodge features tree houses set into the hillside along a private beach. The secluded and peaceful natural setting ideal for yoga, meditation, and spa treatments that nourish the soul. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. And they have a deal for our community. Use code BUDDHIBOX15, good for 15% off rooms available online only. Good thru 8/31/2016. When you go, please say hello to Chris, Chloe, and Magenta for me!
- YOGASCAPES, Iceland
This 8-day journey will be led by yoga teacher Aarona Ganesan. Set in magical Iceland, land of the blue lagoon and Northern Lights, the package offers daily yoga classes, exploration of glaciers, hiking to waterfalls, and rejuvenating in the thermal hot springs. You will travel to three different and very diverse locations. Adventurous spirit is a must but there will be plenty of time to get your Om on. Wehave a special savings for our BuddhiBox community! Use code “summerlove50” for $50 off any US retreat and “summerlove150” for $150 off any international retreat.
- 109World, Aruba
Through the various 109 social mission trips you get to experience some of the most important social & environmental causes of today while discovering beautiful countries, their culture and traditions. All profits from the trips go directly to support projects in the local communities. The Aruba trip will feature daily yoga classes, great food, and daily hands-on work assisting their cause dedicated to helping animals in need. I was fortunate enough to be part of the 109 Water Retreat in Columbia. You can read more about my experience at the BuddhiBlog.
- GLOW Karma Yoga Retreat, Philipinnes
Retreaters get to spend 6 days in luxury, beachfront villas filled with workshops, meditations, and vegan meals. The best part? 100% of the proceeds from this retreat will be donated to Go Light Our World (GLOW)’s solar projects in the Philippines. Not only will you be investing in a life-changing experience for yourself in a beautiful location; but you will also be giving back to impoverished communities of this SAME country , as well. Refuel your karma points while refueling your soul.
- Safari Yoga Retreat, Africa
This wild 11-day retreat will begin on a small beautiful beach in Zanzibar, Tanzania, Africa. The place has an aura of tranquility and a feeling of spaciousness just steps from the turquoise blue sea of the Indian Ocean. Go from beach to bush, to the magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro where the safari journey will begin to see the big five. Activities included are a sunset cruise, daily yoga and meditation, and a visit to three wild life parks. It is lead by yoga teachers Amanda Dee and Ari Halbert.
