Life can be stagnant. In between the moments of great joy, it can be boring, uneventful, stressful, or even daunting. So how do we check into both our emotional and physical well-being during this ephemeral period of time we call life?
We adopt wellness practices.
As the beginnings of 2017 come to a close, we begin to analyze our intentions and resolutions we had set for the new year. Some of which I’m sure many of you can relate to is this: being healthy and finding balance!
This is where you ask yourself, “What can I do to become healthy and find balance in my life?” And after you’ve affirmed this question, you take action. Amongst wellness practices such as eating clean, practicing yoga, and meditation – there is a combination that often is overlooked when searching for a new practice to indulge in: reiki healing and crystal healing.
How Can Reiki Help Me?
When I had my first Reiki treatment, I had no idea what to expect, and honestly – I was extremely skeptical. How was anyone supposed to heal me with pure energy? I was confused with both this practice just as much as I was with my general direction in life. I was often sick and I went through phases where I felt at a loss for what I was supposed to be doing with my life. With this in mind, I dove head first into my first treatment with an open heart and open mind. I chose to be completely open, I chose to fully receive, and I chose to just give my all into being accepting of the treatment – and this worked wonders for me.
Reiki, originating in Japan, literally translates to “universal life energy.” Reiki healing pertains to a spiritual healing technique of energy balancing. We as humans have a natural and unseen life force energy that flows through us, and when we neglect or abuse our life force energy, our physical and emotional health can begin to dwindle.
Think of Reiki like acupuncture without the needles. Acupuncture is a practice that stimulates certain points on the body to alleviate pain and treat health conditions by promoting a response in that region. Reiki, just like acupuncture, does the same through a balance of energy. Through yourself or your practitioner, you are able to receive stimulation through the energy centers (chakras), that correlate to both different emotional and physical ailments. Add crystals to this practice – and this is where the real magic begins!
Crystal Healing and the Chakras
The magic truly happens when we set aside time for ourselves to address the needs our bodies crave. Crystals have been recognized for their spiritual and powerful effects for hundreds of years. It is believed that these crystals, as they are naturally occurring in Earth, vibrate at similar frequencies to that of humans. Some crystals even resonate to vibrational frequencies that we aspire to achieve, and this is where we can use them to find equilibrium.
Crystals correspond to the different ailments of both the emotional and physical within different energy centers in our bodies. They can aid the vibrational frequencies of these parts of our bodies – coaxing them and helping them to move in the directions and energy levels they need to be in order to be harmonious with the rest of our body and mind. By placing these corresponding crystals on our chakra energy centers, we are able to aid the process in which we need to find balance.
Here are a few crystals you can use for your chakra centers:
● Root: Garnet, Hematite, Smoky Quartz
● Sacral: Orange Calcite, Carnelian, Vanadinite
● Solar Plexus: Yellow Jasper, Golden Calcite, Citrine
● Heart: Rose Quartz, Jade, Green Adventurine
● Throat: Blue Turquoise, Sodalite, Blue Calcite
● Third Eye: Lapis Lazuli, Azurite, Sugilite
● Crown: Amethyst, White Calcite, Quartz
I Am Ready to Receive
So why not use them to amplify our reiki practice? It only makes sense that these two practices would work in perfect harmony! The energy balance of reiki in addition to the vibrational resonance of crystals can make for a powerful and (wonderfully) explosive combination!
In your next reiki session, ask your practitioner if they are comfortable with utilizing crystals during your practice. You can either bring them, but more often than not, your practitioner will have some for use. And if you’re practicing on yourself, take the time to create your ambiance: light a candle, spray your favorite aromas, and minimize any distractions to truly indulge.
