For the yogis on the go, fitting in the most important meal of the day can be challenge. It is a mad dash from your early morning yoga sesh to rolling into work before the boss does. But that is no reason to skip out on breakfast. In fact, studies show that you should make eating breakfast a priority. Adding this to your daily routine can aid in boosting metabolism, improve levels of concentration, and help lower “bad” cholesterol levels. Not to mention taming those hungry stomach growls. Try out this quick, simple, and super healthy overnights oat recipe. And it is portable so you can grab and go!
1/4 cups of oatmeal
1/4 cups of greek yogurt (use soy yogurt to make vegan)
1/3 cups of milk or milk alternative. I love to use Macadamia Nut Milk. Creamy and has a great flavor.
2 tablespoons of almond butter
2 teaspoons of honey
2 teaspoons of sliced almonds
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of chia seeds
Sliced strawberries, bananas, blueberries, raspberries
Mix the first 3 ingredients into a glass jar with a spoon. Top with the remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours. With a cup of coffee or tea, this breakfast provides the energy, protein, and fiber yogis need.
